Coaching Staff

Trevor Laffoon, Head Coach

The Lady Timberwolves will be led this year by Coach Trevor Laffoon after an amazing inaugural year winning the 6A State Championship and then a partial season in 2020.  He was named the Daily Oklahoman Best of OKC Metro All City Preps Coach of the year in 2019.  Coach Laffoon started Varsity at Norman North from 2008 to 2011 during which he was selected for All-State in 2011. He played for NYSA Celtic 93 under Head Coach Don Rother. As a player at Oral Roberts University, Coach Laffoon started and played in 72 consecutive games. He was named defensive MVP at ORU during his junior and senior years as well as All-Conference selection in 2013 and 2014. He was the Captain of ORU during his junior and senior seasons. Coach Laffoon was Assistant Coach for the Norman North Varsity Men in 2012 and the Women’s Assistant Coach  2015 through 2018. He currently holds a USSF National “C” coaching license.

Brandon Couch, Assistant Coach

Brandon Couch is returning as Varsity Assistant Coach with his sights set on another successful season.  Coach Couch is a T-Wolf graduate, from the same class as Coach Laffoon. When he is not busy helping to patrol the sidelines with Coach Laffoon, Coach Couch is a firefighter in Stillwater. Coach Laffoon must have borrowed this tradition from his mentor Coach Rother, who likewise once called upon a firefighter to assist in coaching duties. There is little doubt that Coach Couch will provide the team with an edge when it comes to fitness training and mental preparedness.

JV Coaches Briana Jansing and Alaina Chandler

This is Briana Jansing’s 3rd year coaching at Norman North after leading the Junior Varsity team to an amazing undefeated season in 2019 and a partial season in 2020 . She has also coached Cross Country at North for the last 2 year and this is her first year to coach Wrestling at North.  She was a coach at Carl Albert High School for four years before coming to North:  two years as girls’ Assistant Varsity Coach, one year as boys’ Assistant Coach, and the last year as the boys’ head Varsity Coach. Coach Jansing was a multiple sport letterman at Norman High first and then at Norman North High school. She played soccer for the University of Oklahoma and has a degree in Sociology/Criminology. She owns her own business and has been married to her high school sweetheart, Jason, for 19 years. They have three children, Riley (17), Devin (15), and Cameron (13).

Alongside Coach Jansing, Alaina Weber led the Junior Varsity team to an undefeated season, not giving up a goal, in 2019. It is Coach Weber’s 3rd year at North as well and she is loving it.  With a shortened season in 2020, she is looking forward to another winning season with the Junior Varsity.   Coach Weber grew up in Lakewood, Colorado and played club soccer for the Colorado Rush. She played Division One College Soccer at San Jose State. Coach Weber played in the Women’s Premier Soccer League for the Denver Diamonds and San Diego Surf. She even played overseas in Holland and Sweden.  Before coming to North, Coach Weber held an assistant coaching position at Noble High School.   Coach Weber  has a beautiful daughter, Bailey, who is the joy of her life.
